File prediction and CQ
I am using TMPGenc with DVD2SVCD. I am trying out using CQ and file prediction. How does DVD2SVCD's prediction compare? Is CQ the best method to use?

DVD2SVCD uses a file prediction similar to the old prediction we used. It uses a fixed amount of samples, but each sample is longer than the ones we use here. I don't DVD2SVCD has integrated the new algorithm we use here, wich is far more accurate that the one used currently in DVD2SVCD.
Edit: That means the new algo suggested by Tenra, which is 100% sampler followed by fine grained 10% samplers to obtain final CQ. This has been already integrated in the latest version of ToK. -kwag |
Is CQ still the best method for making an SVCD? I know there is CQ_VBR and multi-pass options. Seems CQ is the KVCD thing. I am also using the KVCD matrix in DVD2SVCD.

Hi telemike,
CQ produces better overall quality mpegs. No matter if it's using KVCD parameters, or the standard TMPEG templates  -kwag |

Cq is really cool, produces better overall quality mpegs, and in dvd2svcd with TMPGenc is great! telemike, I am also using the KVCD matrix in DVD2SVCD.... like you and using CQ in TMPGenc! the prediction works fine! |
