KVCD: Slooow moootion?

I think something is wrong with my avs. file :? It goes in slowmotion when I play the file in WMP. Should it be so 8O The speed is like you're encodeing. But the audio is normal. Here's my script, look for errors :arrow:

ConvertToYUY2()
LegalClip()
GripCrop( width=544, height=480, overscan=1 )
GripSize(resizer="BicubicResize")
STMedianFilter(10, 50, 0, 0, 10, 50)
FaeryDust()
unfilter(50,50)
temporalsmoother(1,2)
mergechroma(blur(1.58))
mergeluma(blur(0.3))
DctFilter(1,1,1,1,1,.5,.5,0)
GripBorders()
LegalClip()
#Sampler(length=24)
## MPEG size = ((Total frames/MovieTimeInMinutes)/24) * MPEG sample file size ##
TextSub("C:\Documents and Settings\Lars\Skrivbord\Tobias\Filmer\Showtime\Sho wtime_(DivX_DVDrip)_new.sub")

Hi Wolfi,

thats quite normal. The more filters, the more encoding time. The filters are also used when playing the file in WMP. Thats because its so slow :cry: .
I can't see any error in your script.

Hi Wolfi

Wow thats hell of a lot of filters 8O

I think when kwag reads this he will reply saying you don't need to use many of them with latest script :)

Maybe its a software issue with WMP what version are you using :?
Update to 9 if not using this.

Later.

Actually this is my first script including Faerydust...but dont you think the resoult will look better? Or am I totaly wrong :oops: Maybe I should stick to Spacedust anyway :roll: And if I'm going to compare one clip using Faerydust and one using Spacedust, were can I see differeces, I'm kinda blind :oops:

And about the slowmotion, I'm using WMP v. 9.0 :?

And please Kwag if you read this, witch of all these filters do you think is unnecessary :?:

Edit: What is macroblocks and were can I find them 8O I saw you were talking about it in another topic.

Smells like a codec prob to me.

I know when I do Xvids, I had to dump the Nimo Pack.
Maybe your havin` some of the same probs?

I had some problems with xvid files so I've uninstalled Nimo for a long time ago :?

Do you think Faerydust is to much for a clean DVDrip'ed DivX file :?:

i would say, yes it is.
for CLEAN divx sources i donīt even use spacedust

Wolfi 04-24-2003 04:56 PM

Not even SpaceDust 8O 8O 8O
Does SpaceDust lower the quality?

if the source is really clean, then i just use the optimal script for dvd, and as kwaq wrote , the dust filters are just for "not so clean" sources.
why using a filter, that isnīt neccessary? i canīt make the video better than it is

Wolfi 04-24-2003 05:04 PM

That's logical :D

I know what was making my movie go in slowmation using WMP :) It was space and faerydust :? Worst was FaeryDust, really slow.
Does FaeryDust increase the output size more then SpaceDust :?:

No. Spacedust encodes will be slightly larger. :)

I just wanted to chime in here...

SpaceDust and FaeryDust are 2 very different approaches in filtering. While SpaceDust is a very fast (and pretty agressive too) spatial filter, FaeryDust will take a very very long time, but do a very clean temporal filtering. If you don't mind the time it takes, FaeryDust is the best you can find for Temporal filtering. :wink:
I wouldn't agree if you say that it destroys picture quality of clean sources. :wink:
