make KVCD using CCE, MainConcept, Panasonic, Ligos LSX, etc?
Hello all, I am new to this kvcd stuff, and to video encoding also...I have been reading, reading, reading...and learning... :)
I have been lurking around here for some time now, reading posts, seeing samples, learning tricks...That's a very cool thing this kvcd stuff... I did my first one with Almodovar's "Talk to Her" (Hable con ella) in one 650 (74 min) CD and I can say I am pretty surprised with the results...Excellent...And I did it in my FIRST try...Some excellent advice here...You guys are great... Now I am addicted... I have been getting familiar with the people in here also...The GREAT kwag, the always happy jorel (i am from Brasil too mate  ), the excellent developer's who contribute to this community (muaddib, sansgrip, hedix, delaosa to name a few...you all rock :D ) and the great people who lurk around helping others with their doubts...This is an excellent comunnity for sure and I hope to stay with you all for a long time...And that in the (not too distant) future I can help some people also :D Now for the questions:  1- Can one use KVCD with other encoders, say, CCE, MainConcept, Panasonic, Ligos LSX, etc? I don't have anything against TMPGEnc except that it is soooooooooooo slow... 8O 2- Where can I find the Matrix that is used in KVCD to put it in other encoders? 3- What must be the GOP? Where do I find it? 4- Is the Matrix and the GOP the only modifications made by kwag's templates? Or is there some obscure-black-magic-thing that goes in the templates also, and that is specific from TMPGEnc, making impossible to use other encoders? That's all for now, I hope I don't bugged you too much... And thanks again for the great work you all are doing here and for letting me in on such a fantastic community... Pr0z4C |
Re: Hello and some questions! :)
Hi Pr0z4C,
welcome :D . 1: You can, as long as they support changing the matrix and (if possible) the GOP. 2 and 3: Open the wanted KVCD template in TMPGEnc and go into settings. There you can find the GOP and Matrix. 4: A question for Kwag :D . But i think they are optimized for TMPGEnc. With the Matrix and GOP it should work already. |
Hi Krassi
welcome to kvcd.net :D Although CCE is much faster than Tmpgenc i have heard about many bugs in CCE, one is that audio isn't very good at all  Have fun :) |

Welcome, and thanks! The black magic is in the matrix, combined with the GOP :) You can use the matrix with CCE, MainConcept, and any other encoder that allows a change to the matrix. Be it template related, or directly hard coded  -kwag |
Thanks for the tips and the welcome! :D
Now back to testing...So many combinations...Matrix...GOP...Filters...Resolution ...FPS...AAAHHH! hehehe |
