in nero, the file size raised from 700MB to around 813MB?

OK, I have problems that I would like to solve.

First off, when I encoded Die Hard it is over 2 hours so I tryed to fit it onto 2 CDs... Both files were around 700-750MB. When I loaded up Nero and started burning, the file size raised from 700MB to around 813MB, which Nero isn't letting me burn. Why did Nero suddenly up the size??

Second, I just finished encoding a VCD in 352x240.
Some scenes (Mostly with alot of motion) jump alot, or the frames suddenly skip, audio gets slightly out of sync and gets back into sync.
I have just started encoding another VCD into 704x480, and soon I will have results and see if that resolution works. Any comments??

Thanks in advance.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, I get the same problem with nero, it just boosts the file size by huge amounts for no reason, the only thing I can think of is if you change the parameters like the frame size for instance the stream setting can change from VCD(non standard) back to standard so this may be the cause. Try chopping the end credits of the film that should save about twenty meg. At 813 meg you should be able to over burn the file, try altering the disc size in Nero's preferences window, this also alwos you to set the overburn feature in nero.
Secondly if you have had success in encoding other films with the any of Kwags fine template's then it could just be the film you are trying to encode, the only other thing I can think of is some Dvd players don't like variable bit rate streams and have a tendancy to skip and play audio out of synch, my girl friends Wharfdale M5 is one of them, though my Encore DV450 has no problems with them, which is strange 'cause they are basically the same machine. Hope this
