Hi p42g

Unless your have a dvd-rw i wouldn't bother with mpeg 2 as anything under 2500kbit mpeg 1 is superior, i am sure kwag will confirm you this too :)

For my encodes i do the following:
1. rip the dvd using DVD Decrypter.
2. Use DVD2AVI and save the project.
3. Use HeadAch3e to create MP2 file (i never try to go below 128kbit)
4. Use avs script in tmpgenc and sampler to do file predection.
5. Once i have target file size i do full encode (i try never to go below 544 res as i don't like anything lower)
6. Once i got my mv1 encode i go into BBMpeg and mux the audio and vid together.
7. I then transfer the 1 or 2 mpg files to cd writing machine and burn using nero burning rom (always write at 2x)

Thats my steps to doing kvcd :D
I think many others have similar steps too

Later.

thank you for your responses!
but when I use the TOK load avs file, program error !prompt "invalid floating point opration"!!!

and I found when you use DVD2AVI SAVE PROJECT ACTION, ONLY the
audio timestamp work ,video not change! iI DON'T konw the status ok?
why? could tell me the reason! how to resolve it!

thank you !

welcome p42g
:)

before it all you need to test what resolution your player suport.
for example:
my player only suport 352x240 in mpeg1
and lots with mpeg2.

download ,burn and test i a cdrw first,ok?

after the test you choose what you want to do.

450k??? 8O 8O 8O Theres no way that's the whole film...you probably just encoded a tiny fraction of it. Play it to see if theres anything there...
