DVD2AVI: Audio and Video different lengths!
Used SmartRipper to rip latest Harry Potter then DVD2AVI to extract the audio. Both this original WAV and the MP2 generated by Headach3e are reported as ~2:30 in length whilst the video is shown as 2:08 in length. Am I going mad?? !! :?
Any ideas as the problems here? |
I had the same problem with the same movie (PAL). I had to add about 9,7 sec of silence in the beginning of the wav and everything was fine. The rest of the missing time is at the end credits. But as I live in Sweden I ripped the swedish subs as well. And they where in sync with the original audio. My question is .
Could I instead have taken 9,7 secs away from the m1v file with trim in my avs script and by doing this get the subs, audio and movie in sync. |

Thank you Cheronaph. I just found out how to do. I wanted the swedish subs for my wife. But I was blind at first and didn't recognize the swedish audio. So now I have the movie with swedish audio and no subs. If it wasn't for a third encode I do it with subs as my wife is from Thailand. But this movie is mostly for the children so I don't.
I think maybe I do................. Just to see if I can. |
So whats the best way to sync the audio and video??

I tried DVD Decryptor but the extraction results are the same as for SmartRipper, however I was being a bit thick not just demuxing the AC3 then using Headac3e to encode it to mp2. That works fine.
If I then try to mux it using bbmpeg no sound is in the mpg. If I mux it in TMPEGEnc the sound comes in properly but I get an error message saying "31s packets cause buffer underflow" which manifests itself as a 31s gap between the video and audio. Any reasons for all this?? |
