Convert svcd mpeg2 files to vcd mpeg1?

VCD header trick does not work. Can someone please tell me how to convert either:

a. svcd to vcd directly?

or

b. mpeg 2 file to mpeg 2 file?

I'm an newbie and can't find a simple solution.

Please help!
