how I can fit more SVCD movie files on an empty CD?

I have Windows XP, my computer has 60 gigabytes, and 256 ram with a 16X burner and a regular CD ROM. I started off with that because I'm sure that would help you in assisting me with my problems.

I have no idea what I'm doing. I just downloaded the KVCD guide, and got all the files in a "kvcdguide_files" folder. I'm so confused that I don't know where to start.

I need to know how I can fit more SVCD (not VCD, SVCD) movie files time on an empty CD. I was sent to this site to find out.

What do I do? Where do I start? Someone please help me out with this... I'm sorry, I know this sounds stupid. I'm just very lost, and I'm not good with this stuff.

Hi ll ReNeGaDe ll, and welcome!

You start here: http://www.kvcd.net/guides/kguide/kvcdguide.htm and take it step-by-step

Thank you, but that doesn't help much. They're showing me procedures that I can't take because I don't have a DVD player on my computer. I'm trying to convert SVCDs to KVCDs so that I'll be able to put more material on an empty CD-R. How do I do this?

Just step over the ripping process, and create a .d2v from your .MPG file in your SVCD. That means, run DVD2AVI and create a project file from the .MPG. You might have to use VCDGear to convert that .MPG to a real MPEG file. From there on, you use the same tools and procedures. Instead of the .d2v referencing VOB files, it will reference your .MPG file. The rest is basically the same :)

Hi, I'm back. I got stuck. I'm on the Movie Stacker step, and this is the quote I got:

"If your not sure which templates to use for encoding, then visit www.kvcd.net and look in the forums."

What do I do??

Now I tried to load the file in TMPGE (step: Encoding The Video) and I got this error message:

:(

you need to make sure AviSynth is installed and make sure you use DVD2AVI 1.76 not 1.77

jsxtek 05-25-2003 02:54 PM

Can you post a link to the 1.76 because the link you gave us at the top only has the 1.77 now.

::edit:: I'm pertty much in the same boat as ReNeGaDe. I don't have a dvd rom in my computer so I only have bin/cue[mpg] files as svcds and was wondering how I'd get them into d2v files so that I could fit mayeb 2 whole cds onto 1.

Kane 05-25-2003 02:56 PM

try this one

ftp://www.slunecnice.cz/slunecnice/w...VD2AVI_176.zip

jsxtek 05-25-2003 02:58 PM

Wow that was mighty fast. Now only if there were a solution to my ::edited:: problem. Thanks a lot.

@ jsxtek

just read this

http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4108

after you have made one mpeg, you can load this in dvd2avi and create a d2v file
