KVCD: What to use? kvcdx3 templates don't work in my dvd player?
Ok, kvcdx3 templates donŽt work in my dvd player, what is the next best choise for me, resolution, template, mpeg1 or mpeg2 and can someone explain why!
All my encodings go to a 1 80 minute cd! |
KVCDx3 templates don't work in my player, so I just drop the resolution to 480x480. Looks almost as good as KVCDx3, with the loss of only a bit of sharpness. If the film won't go on one disc with that res and good quality I go for 704x480 on 2 discs.

have you both tried 544x480/576 on your player? it is most likely that if your player supports 704x480/576 it will also play this resolution...

Mpeg1 or 2, what are the advantages of them? IŽll use 1 disc! |
By the way, I use the settings that ToK gives me, does it use the kvcdx3 template?

Use 544x480 if you're in NTSC Zone and 544x576 if you encode in PAL. ToK uses the KVCD Matrix and GOP, so you can just alter the resolution in your AviSynth script.
Your movies will look good at that resolution. Use the latest optimal script  |
