KVCD: 29.97 Interlaced - should i deinterlace?

I'm playing around with converting some Space 1999 episodes from DVD to KVCDs and I'm having trouble figuring out what to do with the interlacing.

The episodes read as 29.97 NTSC Interlaced in DVD2AVI. I tried letting TMPGenc IVTC them, but that leads to jerkiness. I've tried keeping it interlaced and using SKVCD with Interlaced resizing in FitCD, and there seems to be a slight pulse or ghost effect around movement and panning.

Well, any thoughts would be appreciated.

I haven't been following KVCD for awhile because I had picked up a DVD burner and was using DVD2ONE for most of my backups, but with episodes I'd prefer to use CDs with 1 ep per disc.

Nevermind, I got it. The keep interlace and interlace resizing settings were correct...it just didn't look right on the monitor. On my standalone and TV it looked fine.

So, this worked great for mpeg 2...but what would I do if I want to use mpeg 1? It doesn't support interlacing so I would have to do some sort of deinterlace? Best recomendations for TV Episode DVD rips?
