By the way, from earlier experiments with the KVCD template at 352x480 I found re-multiplexing as SVCD fixed the half screen playback problem on Pioneer 343.

Hi m0rdant !

You are absolutly right !!!
I had the same prob with 704x480(576) . DVD player couldn't play a movie at all but demux and remux as SVCD made it posible .
Now I can freely play those resolutions on my player .
I can't be sure but I think that demux and remux as SVCD can solve prob's for many of those who can't play this res on their players .

Anyway worth to try (it cost no money)!

Morning all! :wink:
Just wanted to give you an update as to my situation;
Everything works PERFECTLY! By using the 352x240 KVCD template, I was able to fit two 45 minute epsiodes per disc including the menu structure with VCDEasy! I simply changed MAX to 1250 and MIN to 600, changed VBV buffer to 22, and allowed TMPGEnc to perform the IVTC (it produced less "jumpy" video than AVISynth.) Works perfect on both my Pioneers! And the resolution is AWESOME (even in high motion scenes!)
Just wanted to extend my gratitude to everyone on this sight (especially KWAG!) for all the help they've given me!
I will check back often to see if I can assist others (to give something back!)!
:D :) :lol: :wink: 8) 8O
I love these emoticons!

hey JBC,

Glad to hear you got your ivtc problems ironed out! :D :) My mixed ntsc/film project turned out great as well! The key for me were the lines in avisynth: telecide() decimate (cycle=1, threshold=50) and I left the framerate at 29.97 in tmpgenc 2.55 (2.54 crashed :( ) I could fit about 90 min on a cd too but I put each 1 hour episode on a cd. The quality is great and the audio is in perfect synch all the way to the end!

later on,
ren
