MovieStacker: NEVER get an accurate movie length when loading video source!
 

I need an "explanation" why I NEVER get an accurate movie lenght when I load up a video source file in MovieStacker. I tried loading it up several times as has been suggested, but its not even close...94 minutes compared to the actual 118 minutes as one example. Yet Tok still reads the saved script as 118 minutes.Don't know if I should "manually" adjust it to the true lenght...or just leave it alone.

Are you processing a .d2v or an .avi :?:

yes, I'm w/ Kwag on this one.

Usually, a .D2V file has the timecode (or other codes) that MStacker
should report correctly.
But, an .AVI may not have these and may not be obediant w/ other apps.

Also.., if these are "captured" .AVI files that are giving you these issues,
than the only thing I can guess as to why you have this issue w/ incorrect
fps readings is that YOU are dropping frames (mother of all evils) hehe..

A suggestion maybe..
If you can open in vdub, please test the accuracy in its time-line window,
where it shows (status line) how many frames and minutes are in total.
* Once inside, proceed to press Ctrl-cursor-RT key, and this will bring you
...to your end point. Then, observe the frames and minutes. Note the
...frame, case MStacker is not be counting it right (though it prob. is)
...(but, just in case)

For anyone interested: the video source is ALWAYS a ".d2v" file,and I'm using MovieStacker v2.0 beta. The only reason I'm bringing this up,is because I don't know if the incorrect or shortened movie lenght.....will also affect the final CQ value that encodes the movie. Now I could change MovieStacker's video stream manually,but don't know if this makes a difference because the AviSynth Script stil reads the video stream short. The Tok log however, reads the movie lenght correctly. Be nice if I could have this thing clarified.

I've noticed this to, with both MovieStacker 2.0.0b & 1.1.1. My movie is also from .d2v (DVD2AVI 1.76) and its suppose to be around 115 minutes but MovieStacker seems to think its 91:58. So should I manually adjust or what?
