DVD2SVCD: SKVCD CQ vs CQ_VBR, let's clear this up!
Which produces better results? My chief concern is image quality but I'd like to still get ~120mins per disc. I know, it's the whole "cake and eat it too" thing.
seriously, though, in one place I hear "CQ is best" and in another it's CQ_VBR. This is complicated by the fact that in the kvcd_lbr.ini the encoder is set to CQ_VBR but in several posts Kwag recomends CQ. Also, if it's CQ, what paramaters should be set to what values? Sorry to ressurect an equid. --Rezidew Hehe he said "single serving friend". |
Hi rezidew,
Welcome :) You must have read some of the old posts about CQ_VBR :) Please take some time and read this thread: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2073 There you'll find all the answers. It's a very long :!:, but the answers and tests are there  -kwag |

#1) okay so how about "Motion Estimation Search"? Should I still be using that over "High Quality"? #2) What about a(n) FAQ for DVD2S(K)VCD or a guide? Heck I'd even volunteer to maintane it. Great benefit would come from having a central location where versions are discussed and the latest practices. I'll even put it together if I have all the right information. --Rezidew |

They are frequently updated, but KVCD.Net is a "Fast" moving target, so it's hard to keep up :D -kwag |

I have literaly just come across this and have only been using creating SVCD's and VCD (mainly from AVI files at the mo) for a little while using DVD2SVCD. So far I have quickly browsed through the KVCD articles and have not come across and guides refering to integration with DVD2SVCD so would find such a guide VERY useful indeed. There is an Itailian guide - but I don't speak Itialian!
I will continue looking through this forum; after all there are ONLY thre pages to it so far - what seems like a minor amount compared to what I have read so far!!!!! Swin |
hy Swin,

Just reading http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....ht=newbie]this forum at the mo so hopefully it will give me a starter for 10. Just as a pointer though - I actually using 1.1.3 b3 beta 7 of dvd2svcd that I tried in order to correct an audio synch problem. As it happened it turned out to be my standalone Tosh SD-220E and the way VDC Imager burned SVCD. Still this is a HUGE learning curve! What to you mean Quote:
Many thanks on the welcome anyhow. Swin |
