KVCD: MAX frames in GOP setting is now 48?

Whats new in the latest version of "704x480 BETA template for 2 CDs" released on May 30th as compared to its previous version? I did see that the MAX frames in GOP setting is now 48. How does this affect the output?

I am a newbie, please bear with me. :)
