Encoding: RGB to YUY2 is very slow?

Im trying to convert an AVI file to KVCD, it needs to be converted to YUY2 color space, the line ConvertToYUY2() makes it work but it takes for ever it took 9 mins to encode 48 seconds worth of video? across a 90 min movie that would take a while.

is there a quicker way to convert the color space or is that just how it is and im stuck with it as is?

thanks

Sorry but your stuck with it.

You can try AviSynth 2.52 instead, it's faster, and operates in YV12, so you would put ConvertToYV12(), and I think it should be faster... :D never actually done any comparisons though. :?

thanks for the info, its only for when i do avi --> kvcd seems every divx needs to be converted. i have it running at basically normal speed now with the converttoyuy2 line, i removed the temporal smoother from the scrit cause my conversions from divx are blurry to some degree, and the speeds picked right up there again. I hope its constant for every one and not just this particular movie.

the temporal smoother doesnt slow down cpnversion from a dvd source, im sure theres a reason thats outside my knowledge, but my speeds better now so im happy , but if someone does know why it makes a difference and does know why they come out blurry im always looking to learn :)

thanks for your time catch ya ^_^
