KVCD: Great templates, great quality!

these are great templates, that saved my time in testing diff settings thanks a bunch But I do have a question: I am a newbie on this sort of things, and I decided to use some of my work related resources (a Dell 2giz 8processors with 10gig or RAM) to help me out on this my first DivX to SVCD process, still took about 6hrs to convert 1.45 min of movie, is this correct, expected ? I used TMPGenc to do it, one file 5-6 hrs., TMPEGenc does not take advantage of the CPU power available? even on my Dell Notebook 1.2 gz with 1gig of memory will take about the same time to do it? thanks again for this most great piece of code.. is making my sleep dissorder even worse.. jajaja |

Those times are about right. I have a P4 @1.6Ghz and it takes about 7+ hours for a 2 hour movie with the KVCDx2 templates. So you're in range!. If you really want speed, get a dual 2Ghz Xeon. That will really speed things up!. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those motherboards. :roll: kwag |

Maybe Option -> Environmental settings -> CPU -> Use multi-thread = 8 processors would do something.

Normaly I run TMPGEnc on an dual PIII 1.1 Ghz Box(under Linux with wine *gg*) and there is an considerable performance increase when I start 2 single threaded TMPGEnc processes instead of one Multithreaded process. Im talking about 40% speed increase. :)
TMPGEnc dont check the SMP flag automaticaly nor remembers that it was set bevore on an new startup :( Btw. According to the TMPGEnc Webpage a maximum of 2 Processors can be used in the current version ... |
