Problems with converting from XVID to VCD

I have successful encode 2 different movies over 80 mins onto one cd. They played fine.

However, 2 other movies that I tried to encode. It has giving me some problems.

Movie A: Open in Virtualdub with a dialog box saying..blah....VBR...blah...
so I select audio -> full processing mode and save the wav file. Next, I change under audio-> wav file and select the wav file that I just created with full processing mode selected.

Then I select "save as avi" to create the new avi file using XVID (default settings) from divx 5 before. After I got the new AVI, I have a 1.7 gb file...that's okay. Run through virtualdub again and no dialog box when started up.

Load up TMPGenc select the new avi file and use the source range...everything went fine for the section that I have selected. Then I let it encode the whole movie and I went to sleep.

After waking up, I did not see tmpgenc anywhere on my tasks bar or in memory. The MPG file is created. However, it will not play except the first frame.

The total time of the movie is also HUGE like 432 hours or something. This has happen to the new or old avi and for different movie too. weird.

The original file was save on the remote computer while the MPG is on my computer.....

weird...any help?

I uses TMPGenc 2.510

Man that made no sense to me u said u made an avi from a wav and all types of stuff. Rewrite that over and explain better

No Gre1, he was making sense. He extracted the audio from an avi as a WAV file and then resaved the AVI with the extracted audio. But Hitman, you really don't need to do that. There is absolutely no need to try and resave your DivX 5 file as Xvid, you can convert DivX to KVCD no problem. You'll want to familiarize yourself with avisynth scripting first, and to load your video you use the line
Code:

AviSource ("C:\Movies\movie.avi", false)
You need false there so it doesn't try to load the audio from the divx file. You can then encode your video by itself, and use HeadAC3he or BeSweet to convert your WAV to MP2. Finally you multiplex video and audio to make an MPG file using RunBBMpeg. Otherwise you can have TMPGenc handle the multiplexing for you by using the lines
Code:

AviSource ("C:\Movies\movie.avi", false)
WavSource ("C:\Movies\audio.wav")

For a complete guide to all this and more, go to the KVCD forum and click on Black Prince's guide to create KVCDs from DivX/XVid.

I convert Xvid to kvcd all the time and I never put the line false in it just rip the the audio using vdub encoding to .mp2 with headache then start on video. Had no problems doing so. The only problem I ever had was when it said "can not decompress frame 0" I think it was since the movies that I had had were 2hrs+ and it was compressed alot to get it down to 700mb

note, headache will only accept wave file in PCM format if you are using VDub to extract out the wave..... and what's the purpose with scripting, it's confuses me like hail :D... what does avioutofsync really do? is it just for unix user?
