KVCD for mainconcept encoder fixed?

Hi friends.

I've been reading all the topics about MCE (Mainconcept Mpeg Encoder) and I wanna know if -NOW- to create kvcd with that program is possible.

Did somebody create any template for MCE? The tricks I read don't work enough or work very bad.

I love kvcd, but MCE is very fast and create good mpeg files, and I don't wanna leave that excellent "one-cd" movies.

Please, help me!

Greetings

Hi nogod,

MCE can be used with KVCDs' Q. matrix. As a matter of fact, it works GREAT :D, BUT only at 352x240(288).
You don't even need to do file size prediction :!:
Just use MovieStacker to get the average bitrate you need, and set your MIN to 300 and MAX to 1,150.
You'll be making a KVCD in rocket time :D

Thanks Kwag!

Almost all of my "one-cd" creations are 352x288 (in mpeg-1, 'cause my one of my dvd players don't play resolutions over 352x288 for mpeg1; and other dvd owned by my family don't play those files, too).

I modified the Q. Matrix (typing) but I wanna know if you (or other) have created a "kvcd templates" for MCE, with all the specifications to do it perfect. I think that were a good idea. "KVCD MCE templates" to download from your web... :D

Yes that needs to be done. I'll put it on my queue list :)

:D :D

Thanks Kwag. I'll wait for your "kvcd MCE templates"...
Mmmmm I don't know if I Can to wait for them... Maybe if you advance your queue list... XD

greetings

really?
:D
and the result is better than with tmpgenc?

one more question:
can be used min 300 and max 2500?
(the movie have only 70 minutes-cartoon)

thanks in advance :!:

Sadly, no :(
Even if you set the MAX to 2,500, it will never go beyond 1,300-1,400 on a 352x240(288) encode, because MCE will try to keep the average to your specifications and can't keep a correct MAX bitrate with too high bitrate deviations from the average. That's MCE's biggest problem. The deviation from average to MAX is not to broad :!:

I consider it fun to tweak MC MPEG Encoder :)

Maybe we can convince the Mainconcept team to help tweaking?

Maybe a little petition ... ?

Might as wel send the same petition to TMPGEnc :) maybe they will focus a bit more on performance ;)

please HansLuyten,
say more about...
forgive my horrible english, i'm loose in
some explanations in your last post.

thanks
:)

I meant that (sorry my Portugese is very very bad) you guys where discussing the use of MainConcept. I like TMPGEnc but I hate it that it's slow and doesn't support AC3 - which MainConcept MPEG Encoder does support.
Also: MPEG Encoder is much faster.

So now I'm tweaking a template to get some great KDVD/KVCD look-a-like results ...

Kwag mentioned that MPEG Encoder has some limitations on the bitrates,... I'm trying to figure out how to get around them or tweak it so it will get good results ...

HansLuyten
the idea is great and welcome :!:
i'm waiting your (great) results too.

thank you!
:D

Hi!

I'm waiting four your issues, too.
It looks very nice.
