Any possibility to avoid "jumping" in prediction?
Is there any?
ATM I am encoding an avi file, and the jumping in the avi file REALLY slows down prediction (about 30 Minutes PER CQMagic Pass!! Isn't it possible to create an uncompressed sample with HUFFYUV or a direct stream copy virtualdub job and use this for prediction??? P.S. Should this go into the prediction forum or in here as a feature request? |

I read this yesterday, but fogot about it. Anyways.. My question to you is: * Describe "jumpy" ?? That might help. I have my own issues w/ CQM but at least my predicts last only a couple of minutes (which I find pretty fast to me) for a 128minute movie "Dogma" is what I use for my test platform.. though my problem w/ one issue on this movie is that it seems to always test the SAME SCENE all 258 frames worth. I don't know if it's a problem, but it might be. Anyways.. -vhelp |
Yes... thats the problem...
The avi has been made with DivX SBC (so using the old 3.11 DivX Version) The HUFFYUV idea was only ment for MPEG2 Files as Virtualbud can't do a direct stream copy there... with divx I could do a direct stream copy Wouldn't that be a way to speed up prediction in general??? Jumping in d2v files also does take some time... having an uncompressed avi with the parts you want to be part of the prediction would be faster... wouldn't it? EDIT: Quote:

I still don't understand your jumpynes, ..I keep seeing your videos jump up and down or something like that.., but in any case.. I don't know if you are having issues w/ divX framserved for your predicts, but if you are, you should be able to use them too. Here's how I would frameserve divX: * vdub(divX source) --> .vdr --> TMPG(.tpr project) --> CQMatic(.tpr) -vhelp |
No! Not jumping in place (up/down)
Jumping in time (directly from the 10th Minute to the 20th Minute) I simply use the Avisource(bla.avi) function in Avisynth |

Hmmm..., now I have a problem. I can't see any video in TMPG when I frameserve my divX to it.. and I use to do this LOTS of times. Damn... RATTS... this must be one of those (OLD) avisynth v2.52 crazy installation issues that I missed, back when I first installed v2.52 and it messed up my VFAPI and dvd2avi and other frameserving intricits. Now, I have to figure out: * what happened, and * HOW to fix it I don't know where to start :roll: Take it easy in any case, -vhelp |
