TMPGEnc: SVCD to VCD issues

Hi all,
My Panny RP-56 does not play svcds but it does play vcds. How do I go about re-encoding the svcd to make it a vcd and how do I go about burning it. What other programs should I have other than TMPGenc? Recommended templates? Any guides or anything would be cool. I am using TMPgenc 2.58. Thanks for the help.

You don't have to reencode. You can try what is called "VCD Header trick". That is : to give a SVCD to your player but making it thing it's a VCD.

What to do : in TMPGEnc, go to file menu, MPEG tool, simple demultiplex. There you separate the audio and the video of your SVCD MPEG file (demultiplexing).

Then go to "simple multiplex" and do the opposite, but select "MPEG1 VCD" in the combo at the top of the screen.

Then burn this as VCD under Nero (or other) and give this to your player. It can work.

I tried the header trick but my panny still does not play it properly. Any other suggestions?
