tough time converting an avi to kvcd!

I'm having a real tough time converting an avi to kvcd. This video stared out as a RealVideo file. I used EOVideo to convert to avi. Now I'd like to convert to a standard compliant vcd using the KVCD 352x240Plus template. The problem is in TMPGEnc. The preview shows the converted video upside down and almost all green. I've done many dvd to kvcdx3 conversions, but this is the first try with an avi. I realize I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, but can't figure it out. Help please.

Thanks,

Andy

You did nothing wrong except using a codec too old.

Take the last release of Divx and Xvid codecs and that probably solved all your problems.

avi codecs

Can you recommend where I might find these codecs? And version info?

Thanks,

Andy

Divx is 5.05 at least (5.06 exists also I think). Xvid, I don't know the version. For my part I use a huge codec pack that is there

You can take the "player" package, it's enought.
