Why won't any avi converted to mpeg with TMPGenc play on dvd player?
im new to this but ive spent a lot of time reading all the threads to learn.ive just spent all weekend learning how to put matrix reloaded which is a 126min film onto an 80min vcd.ive succeded but it will only play in the cd or dvd drive on my pc,when i put it into the dvd player only the audio is there.i first used moviestacker to resize the avi file,in conjuction with TMPGNec,tok,and audio dub.i then,after a full day of trying finally had an mpeg file and an audio file,which i multiplexed with TMPGNec.i then burnt it to an 80min vcd,using vcd easy. the result was suprisingly very good with hardly any quality lost.but as i said,the bloody thing wont play on my dvd player.ive had this trouble before,with just normal conversion,ie not trying to resize the file, when converting avi files to mpeg using TMPGNec.but if i use nero to convert and burn the file,everything is fine and it will play on the dvd player.this is really frustrating,espeacially after spending so much time editing an avisyth script,to get kvcd to work.it must be a setting in TMPGNec somewhere but im at a complete loss as to what that setting is.please,please,someone help,im at my witts end.ian.

First thing to try
Go to this link;
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2464 on this site. Download and burn the test image in Nero, and verify that it does work in your DVD player. There are 6 test images. What are the results of this? Tom |

This movie is not yet legally available anywhere. Any discussions about how to convert these types of illegally obtained avi movies is frowned upon here at kvcd.net. :evil: Please be smart, or be banned...your choice. We don't want kvcd.net getting into any kind of legal troubles or possibly being shut down due to bad decisions made by a few visitors! end rant, -d&c |
@dazed and confused.
sorry m8 i didnt think,i was just thinking about my problem,i should have just said a 126min film. it wont happen again. @thomas davie. thanks for your reply.i did as you said and burnt the test images using nero.the dvd player happly played 1-5,but it didnt like test 6.there was a picture, but it broke up terribly.the audio was fine though.does this mean that i have chosen the wrong resolution in my script?or is the problem with a setting in TMPGNec,during the convertion of avi to mpeg?as i said in my 1st post i have had this problem before when i covert using TMPGNec.ian. |
