KVCD Encoding - movie isnt as choppy at the KVCDx2 format!

alright well i figured out that the movie isnt as choppy at the KVCDx2 format when it is encoded at 29.97 fps vs the 23.976 fps. The DVD2AVI spec are as follows 99 % film and Progressive and *29.97* fps. When I encode at 29.97 however in TMPGEnc. I get a traily video. I set Motion Precision to high and lowered the TMPSmoother in FitCd to (1,2) Should I choose for video source Interlace or Non Interlace (progressive) .Now remember the DVD2AVI specs are Progressive and 29.97 99% film . Should I choose different field orders to get rid of these trails when people move. Before when I was at 23.976 I wouldnt get trails but it was choppy on the standalone players. So now at 29.97 I am trying to get rid of these trails so I can get rid of these videos and back them up on cd make sum room on my hard drive. Please help I had CQ at 74 with minimum bitrate to 600 also. And no motion search for half pixel UNCHECKED. Also it was blocky at sum scenes could see shifting of colors would checking output as YUV data YCbCr help?

I too must encode at 29.97. My apex players play choppy sound at 23.97. Yes definitely try with output as YUV data check on. I tried it and it cleaned up a lot of the artifacts and color bleeding I was getting. I don't know if you have the "soften block noise" on but some people have reported more artifacts with values other than 0 0. I read that on this forum but have not tried other values except 0 0 myself.

I have had similar problems with certain movies like American Pie 2. In dvd2avi, select Forced Film. Use FitCD or whatever you like to get your .avs or just load your .d2v file directly into TMPGEnc. In the settings, change from MPEG-1 to MPEG-2. A list of options will become useable now. Select 3:2 Pulldown when playback. This will have an internal fps of 29 but will be 23 when played back. This was the solution to my weeks of making coasters. It is a beautiful thing.
