say i was wondering, SVCD is different from SVCD-DVD. SVCD-DVD will allow you to use a blank DVD to be view in a standalone DVD player

is this what you mean when i see K(S)VCD/DVD or does it just mean you can convert AVI to K(S)VCD or KDVD?

Also CCE/TMpgEnc means to choose between CCE and TMpgEnc or are they just one program?

No, they are two different programs.

I mean convert a DivX/Xvid to KDVD or K(S)VCD. DVD-SVCD is just and SVCD mpeg (480x480) muxed and burned in DVD Media which doesn't support this resolution.

cool thanks guys, i have been hearing that CCE is faster in encoding than Tmpgenc, so is it a good choice to use it more than Tmpgenc?

At low birate TMPGEnc is way better. So CCE is generally reserved for KDVD.

In my experience, in MPEG2 CCE and TMpgEnc do fine, and CCE is way faster. But if you're doing KVCD, you'll get better results using tmpgenc and MPEG1.
