VirtualDub: Cannot extract audio from *.avi with virtualdub

I am getting an error message when I try to extract the audio from my *.avi file. In file information it says audio compression is "Unknown (tag 2000)" and when I try to save audio as *.wav it get "ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format".

Is there anyway to correct this? I tried to reencode with dr divx but then the audio was very echoey.

Try with virtualdubmod.

I use TMPGEnc to extract audio to mp2, then virtual dub to extract the movie with no sound.

Give it a go

"ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format"
Sounds like a codec problem to me, try AVIcodec http://avicodec.duby.info/
With that you can check what audio codec it uses!
