KVCD: 705mb file won't fit on 800mb/90min cd?
OK, so I did the usual converting of an Xvid video to KVCD, came out with a file 705mb big, thought sweet, this'll work on my 800mb cd.
However, when I write cd and it's about to burn, it tells me there ain't enough space on the cd? WTF is wrong? The file properties are as follows: 98mins 48sec 705mb 704x480 Any help? |
How did you mux the file ? With TMPGEnc or BBMpeg ?
How do you burn the file ? With Nero or other thing ? In VCD or SVCD ? Are you sure your disc is empty ? |
mux = TMPGEnc
burn = Nero as a VCD (Compliant CD Unchecked) disc empty = yes :) Any other solutions? I have trimmed the end credits off but I can't seem to trim the opening logos and such, I'll have another go now (I believe it is only a few mb out from fitting on). |
You possibily did a mistake under tmpgenc.
Demux the video if you do have anymore the m1v and the audio file. Then remux but being very carreful to the encoding mode : you have to change it manually to "MPEG1 Video-CD (non standard)" after having load the source. |
How do you go about Demuxing?
Can I do this in TMPGEnc? EDIT : Got it, hopefully this will work, I'll reply with my answers. Thanks anyway though. |
Demux with TMPEG, and if you're going to mux with BBMpeg, use this screen as a guide:

WAHEY! success, sorta..
anyway, I demuxed it in TMPGEnc, then I was gonna remux in TMPGEnc, but my PC was freakin out, so I tried bbmpeg. Now, I didn't have a clue about what to do, so... I used the GUI that someone on this forum created (sorry to whoever it is) and that was simple to use. The file came to 699mb and now it fits :) However it doesn't play on one of my dvd players - green filter flickering over the top and the frames jerk. I'm hoping it works on my other, newer, dvd player though. At least it's burned, thanks all :) |
Hey pip,
Go here: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2464 and download it. This way, you can test what resolutions play in your standalone :idea: -kwag |
