I want to learn more...........
Hi Kwag, (and all experienced users),
I am keen to learn more about how to use CQMatic to get the results I need from my encodes. :) I want to get as near perfect encodes as possible for my backups, not just watchable, otherwise I may as well watch the DVD and not bother backing it up. :( I have decided on encoding all my projects to MPEG2 because of the better quality it can produce, (unless anyone can convince me otherwise). With that in mind, I have also decided on the following Movie Length:Number of 80 min CD's ratio
I intend to use the MA script with the KVCDx3-MPEG-2-PAL template for these, (other suggestions accepted of course :) ). Ok, for example, I wish to encode Spiderman (117 mins ish) with 1 audio track (bitrate 192), which would go on 2 CD's. I enter this into CalcuMatic and get Average = 1675.1 and 0.57*Average = 954.8. I enter a Min of 954.8 and Max of 2000 into TMPGEnc and save my project. Having done that, I would want to test a small sample, to see if it is of an acceptable quality before doing a full encode, and to check that my DVD player will play it :!: Does everything seem Ok so far :?: Right, now we come to CQMatic. :? I enter my Average bitrate and Movie length, locate my Project and load it, then what :?: Does the Prediction Only mode produce any output that I can watch on my player :?: Sorry for the long post for a short question. Thanks in advance. |
