BBMpeg: BUG found during muxing with Pure Interlace
Hi guys :)
I've ben using my app, slim-g for a while now. Quick and simple MUXing of my quicky (encodes and burn to CDR) for fast testings and things. I think I've found what I believe to be a bug or something that was over looked during the MUXing of bbMPEG's routine run. Ok, in the field: * Pulldown: [Auto] or [2:3] or [3:2] ..there is no option for Pure Interlace. The option for [Auto] is only for the 2:3 or 3:2 switch. My Issues... During playing in PDVD or during my AD-1500's playing, I could see that there are 3:2 or 2:3 strobing when people panning across the CAM during shooting. You could see this quite easily. At first, I thought it was my app that just needed an adjustment to the .ini file, but then after careful use through direct contact w/ bbMPEG itself, I've found that it's bbMPEG instead. Since there is no provision for Pure Interlace, there will always be MUXing w/ either 2:3 or 3:2 flags set in your final MPEG-2 Muxes. So, please be aware of this, when you are debugging your final encodes, and can't figure out what going on  But, if anyone has another alternate suggestion to MUXing those Pure Interlace encodes, please do advise :) Thanks for taking the time to hear me out, -vhelp |
Hi vhelp,
Use MPlex, instead of BBMpeg, which provides: NONE, 2:3, 3:2, AUTO and DO 2:3 ;) http://www.kvcd.net/downloads/mplex.exe -kwag |
Thanks Kwag.. :)
Ok, couple of questions... * Does it have command-line (so I can revise slim-g w/ this as an option) ?? ...and listing of all switches ?? * what settings should I use to set for SVCD * ..and xSVCD/xsKVCD * DVD (best settings) Sorry for all the questions, but I figure, get them out now, and be done w/ them all :) Plus, you know how I like to stream-line all those repetitive clicks n drags and things  I'll do some quick experiments for now. Thanks for any other info you can give me, -vhelp |
Not sure about command line. I believe it does ( I recall, browsing the sources once ).
Search google for mplex, and see if you can find the sources. The program was derived from BBMpeg. -kwag |

I was able to do a first test run w/ muxing (using none) and went well. Much better then using TMPG. For some reason, I'm plauged by TMPG freezing up on me whenever I go to click on the BROWSE buttons in anything. I usually have to cut/paste filenames and directories in oder to bypass these dialog options :( MPLEX seem to do it a little bit better then TMPG's way of navigating, but I'd like to stream-line the process w/ mplex. Thanks for all your help in this matter :) -vhelp |
I found this: http://themurrays.homeip.net/downloa...o/for_windows/
There's a .txt file which I believe describes the options. -kwag |
