Best resolution for divx to kvcd?
 

I know this is an ongoing question on this forum. I have read all the threads and I keep coming to the same answer: "choose a resolution closest to your source or smaller." I'm just a little confused on how to judge what would be the closest with these weird divx resolutions. With that being said, is there a good way to determine what is closest, or better yet what resolution are some of you guys using for the various divx sources?

640x272 -> ?
576x240 -> ?
etc.
etc.

look at the first number only.
if your source is 640x272, kvcd 544x480(576) or 528x480(576) would be the closest.
the second number is the height, but WITHOUT black borders. so if u encode to 528x576 it would be 528x272 but WITH black borders.

Thanks! I had no idea I should try to get close to the width only. For the first time I actually understand.
