Reducing number of Keyframes

I am currently converting some Divx films in CCE and have noticed that the ones with fewer keyframes give me a lot better compression.

Film 1 = 2688 keyframes
Film 2 = 1368 keyframes

These films are only 2 minutes difference in length.

How can I reduce the number of keyframes in an AVI file?
