DVD2SVCD: SVCD two disc to one
I guess this must have been dealed with a lot of times. But I'm searching my ass off on forums but cannot find a good guide.
I remember it was also on Avalons guide page but it seems to be off line. I have a good quality SVCD on two discs and want to convert to a single disc version. Disc one is 800 Mb and disc two a little over 700 Mb. Has someone dealed with this maybe recently and give me a link to a guide or thread maybe ? I thought to extract the mpg files with IsoBuster, but then ? Demux in VCDeasy or something ? Or separate audio/video in Tmpg and than encode the video again -> remux........something like that but a little help would be very much appreciated.. |
Why do you post in the DVD2SVCD forum ? Habit ? :-))
Simply copy the 2 mpeg that are in the directory MPEG2 of your CD on you hard disk. Then open DVD2AVI, add the 2 mpgs and save the .d2v project. Then you can use the normal procedure to make a KVCD from a MPEG2 source. That mean : without DVD2SVCD but with Tmpgenc/Cqmatic or Tok. Do you know how to do that ? |
Hi Paulus,
If Dailhots suggestion doesn't work check this thread: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6919 Tinus |
........it's indeed a habit of mine to keep on posting in DVD2SVCD forum as I only use this to makt KVCD. Sorry abouth that...
 I will try to do it manually in DVD2AVI first. Your link is very interesting staigerpaip. Looks like I can even use DVD2SVCD for this..... :D ........although the described method doesn't mention using / merging two .mpg files, I can maybe do both SVCD discs I have separately and just combine them in VCDeasy, right ? Keep you posted ......... |
The refered thread deals with problems we have to use MPEG1 sources in avisynth script. It has nothing to do with your own problem (SVCD are MPEG2 and mpeg2 sources never have been a problem as all DVD are mpeg2 sources) and there is no hint there that you can use with DVD2SVCD.
Sorry Paulus, you will have to do this the hard way :-) |
OK Phil, I'm going to do it the hard way :) .
As I don't know CQ matic yet (it looks a bit difficult  ). I'm going to try Moviestacker, which should work also I think. On my first attempts with KVCD (reading the guide, KVCD from scratch) I used it so I hope this works also... Fortunately I don't have to use subs for this particular project so that's not an issue this time. |
Just stumbled on this thread which explains it in detail...........

So you need to use both of them ;-) But : movie stacker isn't for avs2.52, so forgot it. Just use a text editor, take the optimal script we suggest in the forum, change the name of the source and the gripcrop parameters, and save it. That's all. |
