KVCD: Audio still out of sync?
Kwag,
I just can't get the audio to sync when muxed with bbmpg. It starts out fine then gradually get behind further and further through the movie. Here's what I've done. Ripped to vobs. DVD2AVI ver 1.76 channel format-Auto, dolby digital-demux,mpeg audio-demux, 48-44.1-off,normalization-checked, idct-32 bit,color space-yuv, yuv->rgb-pc scale and save project. TMPGEnc - load the .d2v and build the m1v file. Headac3he - build the .mp2 file with cbr and dual channel mode option and resample to 44.1. The audio time exactly matches the video time when done. Now to bbMPEG. Program stream settings check VCD and the template matches your earlier post screen shot. When the mpg if finally done I run it in WinDVD and move to the middle of the movie and the sound is out of sync. The whole thing is out of sync because when I try to slide to the end of the movie the visual playback shows the movie ending before I move the slide to the supposedly end of the file. It seems that bbMPEG is not multiplexing the 2 files correctly and I can't figure out why. Did I miss anything? Does anyone else have this problem? When I multiplex the old way with TMPGEnc with the wav file the sound is perfect. |
I also get the same result when I multiplex with TMPEGEnc. Sound lags the video. I get the same result no matter if I use avisynth or change resolutions. Maybe DVD2AVI or Headac3he is giving the wrong sync pointers for the audio file.

Yoda, your mpeg is fine! I have the same behaviour in WinDVD, but not on any of my standalone DVD players. Burn it to CD and try it on your DVD player :D

Thanks, I'll try that tonight. I want to test if the sound is that much better than the old method.

Yes 8O by far :lol: A 128Kbps encoded with headac3he will sound the same ( if not better ) that the same encoded at 160Kbps or 192Kbps encoded with TMPEG. -kwag |
this probably won't help you but I just have to mention the stupid thing I was doing was that I was setting 44.1 in the drop-down list in Headac3he but I wasn't checking the little box to the left of Downsample :oops:
Also can the wrong frame rate cause sync problems? Like if you ivtc an ntsc source? that's just my dos pesos :D |
@rendalunit
No, it was a 23.97 fps and I did check 44.1. The out of sync happens in all templates. I'm going to burn it and check it at home just to see if it works. |
Kwag,
I now have a new coaster. That idea didn't work at all, it was all messed up. Any other ideas? By the way all of your templates work fine in my Panasonic player when run through TMPGEnc. Could I convert in Headac3he to a wav file and run the video and wav through TMPGEnc to get the same result? Or- is there another multiplexer out there to try beside bbMPEG? -Yoda |
