TMPGEnc: Video black and white with a 45 degree slant

I have a movie file that was encoded in DivX. Basically I ran a filter in VirtualDubMod, (brightness/contrast) as the movie was too pale. I saved the new avi using Xvid.

Now when I open it in TMPG it's black and white with a 45 degree slant to the left with the next frame appearing in the top right hand corner. There are also noticable scanlines. I'd attatch an image but I can't see where you can do that.

When I play the avi in a media palyer it plays fine, but in TMPG I get this weird picture. What could be wrong?

Thanks.[/IMG]

UnCheck directshow support in the environnement settings of TMPGENC (tab VFAPI) and try again.

Thanks mate, it worked a treat.

But why did it do that?

Because in you case Directshow filter took priority on the real codec and it seems that this filter was a crap ;-)

All is matter of what is installed on your PC and in wich order it was installed. Each PC is a different situation.
