Bumpy/jerky video, does not play smoothly?

i use tmpgenc plus 2.5 and KVCD-CQ-352x288-_PAL_-PLUS.mcf and/or KVCD-CQ-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf templates to create kvcds.
for average bitrate i use calcmatic, i set the cq myself as i cant seem to figure out cqmatic. well after encoding and burning a movie, i try to play it on my dvd-player (lg 6053). the whole movie is quite bumpy, i mean it doesnt play smoothly like it should. i burned a test cd for kvcd which i found from this forum and all six videos play flawlessly on my dvd player, its just my own encodes that im having problems with. can anyone suggest a solution to this?

if u mean that the screen bumps up and down the whole time i have the same problem with ntsc encoded material (23.97 fps encoded as 29.97 internally). problem goes away if i convert to pal first. ntsc film (29.97 fps) works however.
