way to check and see whether the extracted audio is playing at 25fps?
I got a movie namely X2 which is at 608x256 at 25fps encoded to 352x576 at 25fps..
Q1--Is there a way to check and see whether the extracted audio is playing at 25fps Q2--I got 2 movies X2 and Daredevil both encoded at 25fps playing way better than any of my 23.976 or 29.976 fps movies..Better as in quality wise(clearness)... Is the 25fps a factor here or is it the quality of the xvid(avi source) that makes it look good.. Thanks... :o :) :P |
25 fps is the PAL default.
23.976 or 29.976 fps are the NTSC defaults. Quality has to do with bitrate and how it was encoded by DivX. So far from what I have personally seen, DivX is a poorer encoder than MPEG2, only advantage is the smaller size. But I like quality, so I used to make SVCDs, 2 CDs per movie but now with prices dropping, I grabbed a DVD Writer and now use Half-D1 to make double features on one DVD-R |
@the_ray
Q1 There isn't AFAIK. But i think if the movie is encoded 25 fps it is 100% also with the audio Q2 dificult to say, but anyway NTSC= Never the same color :D . I have seen the same with some NTSC->PAL conversions. @willy_annand MPEG2 isn't encoder. Quote:

Size is a factor.... with DivX, you get a 2 hour movie onto a CD. with MPEG2 you only get about 45-60 minutes. With MPEG1 you get 70-80 minutes. |

MPEG1 bitrate 1150 kbps MPEG2 bitrate variable: Max 2500 Ave 2000 Min 1500 kbps DivX 300-1000 kbps Given that the quality is primarily in the bitrate, this is why DivX is not as good. Yes, some will argue that the GOP matrix has something to do with quality... All I know is every now and again I some ripped DivX movies from friends who think they have done a great job with them... They look like what I can do with MPEG2 and a VHS source. Some much quality loss compared to a good MPEG2 DVD Rip. |
Well, XviD is backwards written DivX  . They both compress the video in mpeg-4 formate. XviD is free codec (GPL), DivX is commercial. XviD produces sharper video (better quality I mean), DivX softer (some people like it more). Currently DivX implement more than two pass, XviD - only two pass AFAIK.

Divx is MPEG4, not 2, not 1. MPEG4 always needs less bitrate to provides same informations (compression is better). That the same in audio for mp2 and mp3. A 112 kbit/s mp3 is the same in quality than a 160 kbit/s mp2. New codecs (VR6 and WM9) are 5 TIMES less bitrate consuming than MPEG2 (and half than MPEG4). Will you say WM9 is a lesser quality than Divx ? Of course not ! So birate alone doesn't have any sense. |
Thanks for the clarification Abond.
Since last April when I bought my DVD Writer I have been doing DVDs exclusively. Registered my own business for it too. www.muskokacomputes.com Getting into producing Public Domain Collections now too, will be updating the website to include those this week. |

Should be a wonder 8O

my audio is not synched....i extracted the audio(ac3) through virtualdubmod ...fixed it with besliced and converted it to 44.1khz mp2(with heac3he) ...but still not synched ...whr did i go wrong here...
p.s.i used motion estimate search(fast) and not high quality(slow) |
is motion estimate search a problem here becoz this is the 1st time i am using this function
|
No.
|
thankx for the short answer....lol... but whr did i go wrong ...the audio is synched for the avi so did i miss any step here???
|
I can't answer to that because i do not know what besliced do. Perhaps it kills some samples that it considers as "bad" and so, screw up the later synch with the video.
I never need to use such tools for my ac3 encoding. Virtualdubmod for the extraction, besweet for the encoding in mp2. |
okie..well originally the ac3 i extracted from vdubmod won't work with heac3he saying the last frame is corrupted ...BeSlice fixes this problem....i want to used BeSweet but can't find any proper guide around(to me heac3he looks pretty simple and easy to do)
|
How do you think besliced repairs the last frame Headache find corrupted ?
Besweet is very simple to use. Do you have the graphical intarface (BesweetGUI) ? |
yes ..i do..BeSweetGUIv0.6...i did all the settings already using wizard and then when i click GO a BeSweet.log pops up and then i am lost....
