Changing KVCD 3X PAL resolutions?

My Sony will not play the 3X PAL resolutions for PAL. It will play the 352X288 resolutions though. Anyway, I was wondering if I could lower my PAL resolution for the 3X template? I don't want to go to 352X288 (too low). Is there a formula for computing PAL resolutions or could I use a NTSC resolution like 480X480(SVCD) or 352X480? Thanx

Not sure which thread it's in, but there is a Nero image file that you can download and burn.

It is a set of movie samples at different resolutions.

Try burning it to a CDRW and testing on your Sony.

You might find one you can use :)

As you know the NTSC resolution it's easy to find the PAL ones : thje height in NTSC is always 480, and it is 576 in pal.

So : 352/480/528/544/704/720 x 576 are all the valid resolutions in PAL.

My Clatronic player takes KVCDx3 in 544x576 PAL (kwag had suggested this resolution to me because the standard one didn't work).
I believe I did post this in a thread.
