encode about 1:30 hours of video at CQ 70?

I've been reading in the forums and have heard numerous people say that they have been able to encode about an 1hr30min of video at CQ 70. So far using the MA optimal script I have done two movies of about this length and have not been able to get anything even above 60. I realize this is a noob question but I really want to get raise the CQ values on my movies.

Were your 2 movies fullscreen ? IF yes, 60 is a normal value for a 1h30 movie.

one was full screen so I guess thats the explanation for that one. But the other was a widescreen xvid file. Could it have something to do with the file being xvid and not standard aspect ratios?

The problem isn't in the ratio but yes, it is tied to xvid. MA script can't be used for such crappy sources. Use one of the script I give in the avi->kvcd forum.

thanks for the help. I'll check out that script and see if it helps.
