a new way of joining mpeg1 files

I tried this method 1 time and it worked!

convert each mpeg file to a .dat file with VCDGear. Join them with HJSplit. Convert it back to .mpg with VCDGear.

Has anyone else tried this?

I haven't. But I am
Did you notice any clicks or pops at the points where they were joined?

disregard this post- it didn't work :(

I tried it a few times more and I got pack sync errors in VDub   :( :(

OK, I tried this again 2 more times and it did in fact work. The reason I was getting pack sync errors in vdub is because one of the mpegs I was trying to join had errors. I cut an mpeg with TMPGenc, converted each to .dats, joined with hjsplit, converted back to mpeg with "fix mpeg errors checked and file split disabled" and I could load the mpeg in wmp and vdub and it played. I didn't watch the whole movie so I don't know if it plays perfectly yet.
