Automating KVCD encoding?
Kwag,
Not certain where to post this, but have you given any thought about automating KVCD encoding process. I viewed some post where DVD2VCD was being used, but Tmpgenc settings for CQ_VBR were not allowed. Maybe others are looking into doing this. Thanx |
Without reinventing the wheel, the best hope is that CQ_VBR and 704x480 resolutions will be added to future versions of dvd2svcd. The program already does everything else that is necessary from ripping the DVD down to creating image files - and after so much development it would be potentially a waste of time for someone to try and duplicate the effort. I know Kwag has asked for CQ_VBR to be added, and was given a hopeful response.

Automating KVCD Plus
Again Thanks Daagar, your right. When Kwag's KVCD templetes
were using CQ only, I managed to make DVD2SVCD work with that. I like to start a movie at night and in the morning wake to find my PC shut off. I am sure they will make modifications for KVCD Plus. :D |

Automating KVCD Plus
Hi Graal_Cpm,
I'll give your method a try. I'm an old DOS batch programmer. D2S has some very nice automated features besides auto shutoff. :D |
automating KVCD
Hi Graal_CPM,
Your automated method for D2S encoding of Tmpgenc cq_vbr using KVCD Plus templetes works. I created a swap.bat file with an additional loop step to replace the .avs file when it appears during the process. This means I can check no edit .avs. There is one problem. D2S is creating an default.ini file for bbMPEG to multiplex with. It's settings are wrong. (i.e. program stream type defaults to mpeg-1 and not vcd, vbr is not checked, and force frames is 3258 instead of 0) How can I over ride D2S settings for bbMPEG. :?: Thanx |
Hi Black Prince,
Somehow I have missed your last post. Sorry! Concerning bbmpeg, D2S offers the possibility to edit default settings (provided that it is set to "advanced" mode, otherwise you don't have access to bbmpeg advanced settings)... Just check VBR and is should be ok. Cheers! PS : swapping avs file is nice. I love Fitcd too  And I keep dreaming of a version of D2S where you can edit everything before pressing GO... |
Hi Graal_CPM,
Quote:
I use 1) DVD2AVI batch version, 2) Tmpgenc batch version where the project file is commandline input, 3) bbMPEG using my own ini file, and VCDEasy (not finished with this yet). So far it works if you rename your vob's to my naming convention (i.e. vts_01_1.vob, etc.). I want to intergrate FitCD somehow, add ChangeCD after first mpeg of 2, and possibily automate making a menu. Steps 1, 2 work fine. I feel the same as you, press GO and next morning mpegs and menu are done. -black prince :D |
