TMPGEnc: encode restarts after finished?

is there something wrong everytime i go to Encode It starts to encode and then when its done it starts all over again , does it normally do this??

How are you encoding :?:
If you are using CQMatic, then that behaviour is normal.
Please describe your process :!:

well im using DVD2SVCD and it got up to TMPGEnc where it encodes it , and then once it is finished ( Average time: 4 min ), it closes TMPGEnc and thne opens it and starts again ( well thats how it looks)???

That's called "Prediction". And it's the normal behaviour, until it finds the correct CQ value, and then it starts to do a full encode.

Oh okay how long does this take exatlay ( movie is 90 min) and can you disable it?

You can fix the value of the CQ but it is not recommended as the CQ must be determinated for each movie in order to reach the target filesize (800 MB).

And there is no means to know the time it takes. But D2S stop the tries after #10 even if it hasn't find the correct CQ and run the encoding with the last value found.

Which is a bad practice, as that CQ might (is!) not be very accurate :!:

Hi,
We're sorry but in the end it's all up to your PC specs, avisynth version installed, type of avisynth script loaded, kind of movie (more static/more movement),etc...
With my PC specs, it is usual to wait between 17-20 Hours of encoding (after CQ value have been predicted) for a >100min length movie.
But most of the guys take 4-5 Hours with their latest PCs.
Cheers
