KVCD: Can't choose between templates?

Can you give me a hand on choosing the best template?

- kvcd ?
- kvcdx2 ?
- kvcdx3 mpeg1 ?
- kvcdx3 mpeg2 ?

well its not really a matter of which template is better to use, it all depends on how long ur movie is. check here for the time lengths the templates allow to compress upto.

Sorry DragonZeal, I know you are new in here but I just deleted your Poll-Question and added the choices manually to your Posting.

It doesn't make sense to split the possible choices that way.

If you got aquestion, please do it the known way as it is now.

Thanks!

Its also a resolution thing, there're some Standalones which don't accept for example mpeg1 at higher resolutions than 352x288, but most do.
So you have to figure out what resolutions are accepted by your Standalone when using mpeg1. Also you can set manually the min and max bitrates in the CQ mode to obtain even more flexibility in archiving even better results based on specific resolutions.

So give us informations about what's your source (length, Aspect ratio etc.) and at what resolution do you want to encode.
So we can give you best hints

KVCDx3 & KVCDx3a are the current 'standard' using the latest GOP structure and Quantization matrix.

You should use one of these, altering the resolution to suit your needs.
