sizes equal each other? why?
 

Hello, i just found this kvcd template for tmpgenc, but now here is my problem: If i use this KVCD template in tmpgenc and i encode my avi file to an mpg file, the newly created mpg file matches in size with the mpg file created with the standard vcd template from tmpgenc. Shouldnt the filesize of the mpg file be smaller as well? (no matter what template i choose the final filesize is always 224 MB, i tried with about 3 different KVCD templates, as well vcd templates)

(I use the TMPGenc 2.59.47.155 Plus version)

You need to use file size prediction.
Read about it in the related forum area, and also read about CQMatic, which automates the process for you.
There's also a special section in the forum to post questions related to AVI conversions.

Thank you for your quick response, ive been surfing on this forum for 2 hours now, i also downloaded cqmatic, but i dont really understand what i should do with it :? (read a lot but i dont think i quite understand) I mean i just want to bring this file size down somehow but i dont understand how... sorry i didnt see that there was a whole forum for this, otherweise i woul dhave posted my post there... I have one more question: can i reduce the size of my file with cqmatic, if yes can it batchencode? is there a superidiotsguide?

hm after playing around with tmpeg i one time encoded the movie with the option ES (Video + Audio) and the size of the sum of the two files was only 100MB's, so if i encode as Systen (Video + Audio) I get the normal 224 size. Is this how you get the small file sizes?

You're using the wrong version of TMPGEnc. In this version is a bug and the files are too big. Use the newest. Then you haven't any problems with filesize. :wink:

boaaaa thx your great :) downloaded the newsest one from pegasys and file sizes are different now, hehe 40 percent of the ones before, amazing :) thank you

there is one more question i have, now that i installed the new tmpgenc, it dosnt want to read the batch files created by tmpeg batch list creator v.3.0 anymore.(it gives me an error when i try to load the list into the batch editor in tmpgenc, it sais that at line 23 = is missing, but its exactly the same batch file i used before, as well i created some more batch files, but all give me the same error with this new version of tmpg) Is there any other program that let me create these batch lists so easily?

I don't know what is that tool but you do you really need it ? What is the benefit of using it ?

Making batch is easy : you load the source in tmpgenc, you set everything, you go in file menu and choose "add to batch list".

Or you creating projects of your videos and join this to Batch.

EM: "add to batch list" is more easy and does not need that projects have to be safed separately IF you just want to batch encode.

But you can if you've got problems. :wink:
