How to patch the quantum matrix in Mainconcept Encoder?
How do I patch the quantum matrix in "Mainconcept Encoder" to the KVCD Notch Matrix, Everytime I change it manually it changes back to the default as I'm doin it :( any ideas?

Doing a quick search for "mainconcept" turned up these 2 threads, among others:
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....ht=mainconcept http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....ht=mainconcept You should find some relevant info in there (including why MCE is not the most ideal choice of encoders to use). Good luck, -d&c |
Thank u guys I'ma spend the night tryin, ( I really am greatfull,
I'll touch base with u soon takecare 8) |
I bet that tomorrow you will come saying "I drop ME, results are ugly".
|
8) Well u seem like a pro & I'll take your word for it, But when I tryed making a tester mpeg 2 file (standard not kdvd it looked better than tmpg's hmmmmm

Oups. Forgive (and forget) me. I didn't see you are making DVD.
It's only for KVCD (ie low bitrates) that TMPGENC is far better than any other encoder. For hight bitrates things are different. I currently use CCE for KDVD and never tried ME for that. So in fact, I'm waiting for the results of your test :-) |
Actually Phil I'm makin 1500 mb K-DVD Files lol
Anyhow your right mce is a peace of shit for kvcd/kdvd |
Yep, but already a 1500mb wanted output will mean low bitrate! As I think you gonna encode at 704(720)x576(480).
Maybe you got luck, for example both parts of Matrix do work very well at low bitrates cause they contain many many dark! But the only advantage of 2pass speed of MCE will be overridden when encoding with TmpgEnc CQ mode or CCE (with CCE Q mode defenitely faster) in Q mode and prediction. ;-) Ok, its also a matter of the price in comparison to CCE! And MCE (to me it seems) only "eats" avisynth scripts scripts via directshow  I did many tests on MCE .... even some movies came out very well but some others where worse than an encoding done by TmpgENc or CCE. And I'm not a friend of just luck. So I deleted that appl. from my HD. Maybe an update will change my opinion! |
