kvcd: which template is the best for quality?

Hello...

I'm using VCD and SVCD for a long time now. But I recently discover your website and templates.
I would like to ask you a question... I love SVCD and the quality they produce. I don't mind using 2 CD for a 2 hours movie...
So can you tell me which template is the best to using when speaking about quality, KVCD ou KVCD Plus and what is the difference between the two ???

Thanks a lot,
Nico...

Take the 704x480 KVCD PLUS template. You'll get almost DVD quality, and you'll be able to fit around 60+ minutes per 80 minute CD-R, so most movies will fit in two CD's. The difference between the regular templates and the PLUS templates, is that the PLUS are the "top of the line", quality wise

WOW!!!

I was impressed with the SKVCD Kwag!

I managaed to get about 75 mins of full screen 29.9 fps video capture on to 1 cd. Did it with Headache and the new template.. Its great.. Thanks.

Oh and I finally figure out about 3:2 pulldown with my apex.. I was doin it in the wrong place within Tmpgenc. I was doing it under the advanced options.. When i should have been doin it in the video options.. DUH! :) anyways..

So, how does it compare to a regular SVCD, as far as quality is concerned?

Thanks for you help, I'll try KVCD + on my next rip of DVD... and will tell you what I think about...

the quality!!

Well i did some short DVD rips and i noticed that the quality is better when it IS mpeg-1 other then mpeg-2.. But nothing horrible.. absolutley nothing to sneeze at. When i would use the normal 352x480 or 704x480 it would be a much smoother picture, with the SKVCD at mpeg2 there are just little things and i cannot stress this enough.. VERY LITTLE :)

But enough that you and I or others might notice in the KVCD world :)

Unfortunatley i cannot use the normal KVCDx2's with my apex 1500, unless i play around with the Pal template on a NTSCfilm movie. Quite odd really :) The SKVCD play practically flawless. Thanks..

tks
