ffvfw and MPEG Mediator
Just to comment that the CODEC is working fine with MPEG Mediator :)
So for some cases, or people that have problems with AviSynth, you can just open your VOBs directly with mediator, set your CODEC parameters, and encode :!: Works like a charm  -kwag |
hay Kwag pal.
Mediator is a parser/ree-encoder like app ?? I'm still having problems w/ ffvfw to work for those mpeg-2 encoder (aka, .avi) but, my question is this.. Is there a better method to MUX these ffVFW mpeg-2 wrappers to a proper MPEG-2 stream for compatible DVD authoring ?? I'm still testing this toy out. So, far I've gotten it work pass (fair) using dvdPatcher v105b (sorr, I forgot the link for others in need) hint, hint.. put in sticky (above) Yeah, list the required files/apps that will successfully process our ffVFW mpeg-2 (.avi wrapper) encoded files. FWIW.. Here is what I use thus far: * vdub v1.49 * dvdPatcher v1.05b --> drag'nDrop file into and set to your desired ...MPEG-2 specs (ie, DVD - - 720x480/16:9/192kAudio ... The above is as far as I've gotten. I haven't work w/ the audio just yet, but I'm having problems, as when I encode ffVFW in a certain middle area, the audio encoded it starting from the begining 8O . . If my audio is based off a dvd rip, then are you all including it in the encode, or are you converting it to AC3 or something, then MUXing it later (and w/ what app are you MUXing the audio/video with ? ) ?? Sorry for all the dumb questions, but I'm really pooped out over here afer work hours. Thanks for the responses, -vhelp |

The only thing you have to do, is use "pulldown.exe" (if your source is 23.976fps) to flag the file, and then use DVDPatcher to change the reported bitrate on your .m2v file. After that, you can mux with BBMpeg or MPlex as "~DVD", and your file can be imported into any standard DVD authoring program. Quote:

..that's what I mean, that it's a re-streamer or something. Anyways..
Yeah, I forgot about pulldown 8O slipped my mind for a moment. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, when using ffvfw to make my mpeg files. I'm guessing that you are naming your source files .m2v for encoding/authoring purposes. . . When I set up my ffvfw screen for encoding, I use the following: * Output: [x] Store frames to AVI - - - [MPEG 1 video stream] * Output: [x] Store frames to external file . . [ filename.mpg ] [x] Set aspect ratio [16] : [9] Then, when I go to File menu, I save AVI w/ filename.mpg, give it a name, and begin my ffvfw encoding. Then, I get two files. Maybe I don't have the proper technique down yet  So, where or when are you using or naming your .m2v files ?? So then, you're encoding just the video, and then doing the audio for last. Ok. I got it. So, I don't need to do the audio part w/ the video. hmm.. Then, I just need to make sure that I use pulldown properly. FWIW.. i'm using star wars clones as my video test source. I just need a good orchestra system for testing  -vhelp |
