When encoding THE CORE no matter if 2 1 or 3 B frames used, but with TRUMAN SHOW I have to use 1 bframe cause at 2bframes this comes out:

Basically I was saying that you could look for 2-pass-VBR, but that would be very slow for you. So it would be better for you stick with quality based encodes, but make the optimal script more aggressive in it's motion adaptative caracteristics. That means: make it blur a lot more than it does when there's a lot of motion, so less bitrate is needed and the peaks of bitrate would be lower. Of course, this is just an idea, I don't know if this can work. And I don't know right now exactly how to do this, but it's not hard for someone with scripting knowledge. |

Wanna give a hint on one of your GREAT scripts that would do what VM just told me to do? I'm just so sad that we couldn't keep vhelp in the team... But everything he was doing was supposed to work... EDIT2: ... and I must say, it is good as is fast, and is fast as hell :) I've made test with my self builded script (specialy for ffvfw), and I get bitrate 10% lower, with lower max peeks (but not respected by vrc_maxrate), with lot of mosquito noise (but I think that I can beat this, and even lower bitrate). I'll do more tests tomorow. PS: I do my test on cartoons, while I think that they are harder to clean and compress. I'm righ or wrong (I mean: I make test right or wrong way?) Try to work with mencoder build we all use. I have probem with differend builds. And yours MEncoder dev-CVS-031124-01:43-3.3.1 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team is diferend than ours MEncoder 1.0pre3-3.2.3 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team
