Error 85: support for ac3enc.dll had been removed ?

"... due to its suckness"

This is the first time I try to use ac3machine and it fails. I managed to have the error message above with besweet;

HOW CAN I CONVERT 448 to 384 AC3 STREAM ?

Incredible, didn't you tell me that you used ac3machine for that ?

Edit : I use besweet 1.5b25 that was update to azid1.9 and that is azid1.9.dll that gives me the error :-( :-( :-(

Edit2 : I returned back to 1.5b23 and all is okay ! BE CARREFULL to not upgrade your besweet version if you need ac3->ac3 support

Hi Phil,
I remember I read something about DSPGuru had turned off the ac3 to ac3, not so long ago.
At least that's what I understood by his words at the time.
And it can't have been more than a month or two.
So maybe you have his earlier version of besweet and that's why it still works.
I believe he tought that the outcome file was too bad and that he would have too many trouble solving it...
I sure would like to have a good tool to transcode ac3.
Not so many available these days, you know...
Just tell us if you find it's quality good, ok?
Cheers

Yes it is (as we can, read in the changelog) but I wonder about the reason given for the removal ("its suckness").
We so have the choice between no AC3->AC3 support or a crappy support

I would love to know more about what is blamed to ac3dec.dll

Inc said it was okay.

Well really I don't know why he removed that cause of suckness.
There can be read diff. resons on the www, but exactly as RDS said, do determine in AC3 machine an a bit older version of besweet and everything works fine, well I did not could find real quality issues when converting to smaller bitrate AC3s.

Did you try softencode? Till now I didn't give it a try, but I would love to.

jorel 02-15-2004 09:25 PM

yes Phil and Correia,
this is the reason that i don't "trash" old versions.
i backup the besweet1.5b23(maybe i have all versions)!

incredible,
softencode is very cool!
vmesquita use in his guide the softencode and/or ac3machine!

Hi Jorel, long time no seeing, buddy :!:
We love to see you around :D
You're absolutely right about trashing older versions of softw.
That's why I have 2Gb of old software, at least most of it is old.
BTW doesn't softencode cost a load of $/€?
Cheers

Look at the last post of DSPguru in this thread, there he linked to the Threads showing the issues according to ac3enc.dll

It's back again.
As DSPguru says, with fixed ac3enc, new BeSweet v1.5b26 should be working properly, but I didn't tryed this.

This is "wish thread" on doom9
