KVCD MPEG1 burned as SVCD?

How does one burn KVCD MPEG1 as SVCD? Do you just mux it as an SVCD then burn, or mux as VCD (non standard) and tell Nero it's SVCD (non standard)?

Mux the movie (MPEG-1) as SVCD with bbMPEG and burn as SVCD in Nero. It's as simple as that! Good luck.

Why mux with another program? I always use tmpgenc. Works fine.

BBMPEG has more compatibility, but take care with the settings. (forced mux rate = 0)

Pardon my ignorance, but more compatibility with what exactly?

Don't worry. It has more compatibility with home DVD players.
It multiplex a little bit better than tmpgenc, and you can change settings in bbmpeg and not in tmpgenc. Then with tmpgenc you can have problems of overflow, and not with bbmpeg.
(i'm sorry for my bad english)

Thanks, but is there a guide somehwere on how to mux with bbmpeg? I loaded the program amd see nothing about multiplexing. The help file states that you must "uncheck the Encode Video and Encode Audio options" but I see nothing of the sort.

See there what are the recommanded settings :

http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2224

You just have to load the video stream (VS) and the first audio stream (AS1) and set everything as on the snapshot.

I may sound like an idiot, but what exactly is the executable that runs to get to the suggested settings dialog box that is pictured in Sansgrip's post?

bbMPEG is not an executable now is it? lol

No .exe or .com extension.

I really want to know the executable. I must have downloaded the wrong files but I never got a BBMPEG.exe in my downloads.

Is this from bbmpg12418.zip from http://members.cox.net/beyeler/bbmpeg.html ?

Hi, sorry, the exe's are AVI2MPG2.EXE or AVI2MPG2_VFW.EXE (this is for old avi's, no matter for multiplexing). You must to use avi2mpg2.exe.

kenguard 02-16-2004 03:29 PM

Ok. I have been in those executables before but I have never been able to pull up a dialog box like pictures on http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2224 so that's where I've been confused. MPLEX has a very similar one so I assumed there must be another GUI that eveyone is using that I hadn't found yet.

Now I see that you must choose the Start Encoding button to pull up bbmpeg then go to settings. I've been looking for a settings option from the main screen in AVI2MPG2.exe. I've even run runbbmpeg.exe and looked at the greyed out settings button and wondered if that was it.

Dialhot 02-16-2004 04:18 PM

The executable is runBBmpeg.exe, not avi2mpeg that also delivered but not want you need.

MPlex is exactly the same tool, you can use it insteed of runBBmpeg.

As you understood bbmpeg.dll is a librairy that can be called from several GUI.
