;-)

And to be shure (I never trust DVD2AVIs text on the right side):
As said, do scroll using the slider below to a fast moving scene, if there's no combing, you deal to 100% with a progressive NTSC (means 23.976) Stream. And then choose "force film"

jorel 03-17-2004 05:57 PM

ok inc, i did and don't see combs, then was used forced film!

after i did a simple .avs script only with the source and load in virtualdubMOD.
again,i can't see something wrong...frame by frame or using play,it's ok!

now i load the project with script.avs in CCE (vmesquita template kdvd720x480)and encode!
ok...i got the .mpv file!

using dopulldown, i load this .mpv and...: "pulldown finish with errors!"
like posted here:
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9122&start=16
seems that dopulldown write this phrase but the file is ok!

i take the .mpv after pulldown and load in tmpgencdvdauthor and got:

the video gop is too long!
for a standard dvd it is necessary that the gop fulfill the following condition:
max 36 fields (18 frames) (ntsc format only)
max 30 fields (15 frames) (pal format only)

like posted in the same thread:
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9122&start=16
:(

where or what i wrong?
:?

incredible 03-17-2004 06:19 PM

8O

Two possibilities:

1. Pulldown.exe is set wrong

2. CCE is not working properly (are you shure you did use the exact settings of VMesquitas Template??)

Do open the stream in Restream and watch is something could be wrong.
Also do open the stream in Bitrateviwer and watch the gop length.

inc wrote:

maybe, don't know, used as default!

"2. CCE is not working properly (are you shure you did use the exact settings of VMesquitas Template??)"
i only load the file and the template kvcd 720x480/576 to encode, nothing more!
i forgot something? :?

i don't have Restream and Bitrateviewer but i load the .mpv(from pulldown) in
vdubmod and in virtualdub meg2 ...the information show :
frame size fps (us per frame) 720x480 , 23,976 fps (41708 us)

in zoomplayer: listed fps 23,976

do i still need restream or bitrateviewer to see the informations?
if yes, please send me a link to download!
:)

jorel 03-17-2004 09:56 PM

i encode again in CCE changing the
 N/M from 5 to 4
like the recomendations for encode ntsc sources in lots of links...:
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/cce-advanced.htm
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...ighlight=n%2Fm
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...ighlight=n%2Fm
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...ighlight=n%2Fm
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...ighlight=n%2Fm
and much more!

after encode in CCE using N/M=4, i did one pulldow.bat,
with the source and the target:
pulldown D:\ts1\toy1.mpv D:\ts1\toy1.m2v

then i take the toy1.m2v to tmpgenc-dvdauthor
 and the file load without any problem :!:

all my tests using N/M=5 show error in dopulldown and in tmpgenc-dvdauthor :!:

with N/M=4.........no one problem :!: :!: :!:

like i did in the second page of this thread i ask again:
 why (or how) nobody that encode ntsc had problems using NM=5
with vmesquita template or any other template for CCE :?:
:? :? :? :? :?

incredible 03-18-2004 07:13 AM

Bitrateviewer in registered version allows you to watch the gopcount! and that was my purpose ... that you watch your gopcount on that pulldowned GOP 5 stream of CCE.

jorel 03-18-2004 07:26 AM

ok inc,
...but i can't buy the registered version in this moment (short money)

please, more details about N/M=4 that i used for ntsc and don't give problems, was the only adjust changed after load the template and the script!
pulldown and tmpgenc-dvdauthor load the file without problems!

was only me with this problems using N/M=5?!?!

thanks !
:)

It seems you are not if you trust the link you referenced on doom9. But whta I can say personally is that I did my "KVCD Samples for Standalone compatibility check" with N/M=5 for both PAL and NTSC version. And I didn't have the slightest problem.
(authoring done with DVDlab).

jorel 03-18-2004 08:07 AM

"...trust the link you referenced on doom9"
yes, i trust but a lot more in my friends here and his informations :!:
the links was used as references.

Phil ,
i am sure that you and more friends did with ntsc source
using N/M=5 getting perfect results.

 for this reason i have doubts....
the encoded file in my pc,with N/M=5 in cce 2660107 don't work!
something can be wrong!?!?!?
how can it be?
:? :? :?

thanks!

@ all :
please, anyone is using CCE 2660107 (build at may 30 2002 ) :?:

I can't but we don't need that : I use Vmesquita's template for KDVD with CCE2.67 and didn't change anything in this.

jorel 03-19-2004 09:01 PM

all right Phil, thank you!

i will change to CCE 267 trial and the vmesquita template for this too!
i can't think in better test or any other solution !
