Tmpgenc dvd source creator
It is a simple encoder for people who just need to make
source files for DVD(or VCD / SVCD). found somewhere: "DVD-lab doesn't have encoder built-in for various good reasons: Many users already have their own trusty hardware or software encoders so they would have to pay additional price for something they won't use. Both authoring and Encoding are lengthy operations. Having the encoder and authoring applications separate gives users the ability to use both on the same time or fix only the part in the production that need to be fixed. For DVD-lab users who don't yet have encoder were are now proudly offering the TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator. TMPGEnc is proven by many users over the years to be one of the most flexible encoders and we can offer you a special version for the best price on internet. DVD Source Creator is based on the newest TMPGEnc engine. It was previously available only for Sony Japan, but Mediachance is now able to offer a new English version to our custommers. It has new improved interface which smartly merge the batch processing, joining and cutting directly into the main application. Unlike the original TMPGEnc, DVD Source Creator expose to user only the important parameters. did you knew that? 8O |
Yes. You can find it also on the pegasys-inc website with no mention about DVD-lab.
That means that the tool can be use for any usage. But I don't think it's usefull as tmpgenc is TOO SLOW for making DVD. Except that it is optimized for using HT P4 ! |

Well i tried both CCE and tmpgenc but the encoding time was almost the same, for a 700 mb avi(2kdvd) for example tmpgenc took 2:30 hours and CCE 2:10 hours.(CQ 61 @ 720x480)
The gui of tmpgenc looks more pro then CCE's imo. |
